Small Nest Box, Flat Roof, Wood Bird House
A modern bird house derived from a retro design of De Stijl movement employing abstraction and simplicity. Lessons taken from the Schroder House in Utrect, Netherlands was the inspiration for this design. It has a removable floor to access the interior for cleaning. The cube geometry and its flat roof design is the expression of its simplicity. The overlapping planes are used as a way of color blocking.
Materials: Solid pine, glue, nails, water based stains and exterior latex paint and sealers
Dimensions: 11.5” x 8.25” x 6”
Colors: Natural pine, turquoise, brown stain, red, black
