Mid Century Modern Classic, Butterfly Roof, Bird House
Unique and handcrafted roof design is a Mid-Century classic which "floats" above the birdhouse and allows for air-flow to the interior of this dwelling. The roof design is found mostly in the Southwester United States, a concept originally conceived by Le Corbusier in 1930. However, the popularity of the butterfly roof is attributed to the architects William Krisel and Dan Palmer in the late 1950’s in Palm Springs, where nearly 2,000 homes were built.
The interior is left unpainted to be eco friendly to our little house guests. The floor detaches for quick and easy cleaning.
Materials: Solid pine, water based paints and sealers, glue, nails
Dimensions: (H) 11" x (W) 10 3/4" x (D) 9 1/2"
Colors: Natural pine, black, red , yellow
